I had to use about a .050 DOC with a 9hp motor and there was just not enough torque. We also have laminate table tops and rely on vacuum to secure the stock which did not work well.

Feb 05, 2012 A bolt came out of one of the arms that operates the pop up pins letting the pop up raise while the machine was running. The spindle crashed into the pop up pin sideways throwing rhe spindle visibly out of vertical alignment. They got it back in alignment pretty good but these ridges when flycutting tell me something is still not right.

Feb 05, 2011 Thermwood routers are pretty good machines. I currently run a model 90 5 ax and have been impressed with the performance considering it is a router and not a machining center. We routinely machine small aluminum pieces, although pretty slowly, and achieve good results. The spoilboard table is fantastic for quick setups.
