The strongest aluminum alloys 7000-series alloys can reach strengths in excess of 72,000 pounds per square inch. A 1.2-inch aluminum wire made from this alloy could suspend a fully-loaded tractor-trailer in the air. Additional Resources: Drive Aluminum for a Safer, Greener, Stronger Vehicle.
6061 T6 Aluminum Square Tube vs. 6063 T5 Aluminum Square Tube There are numerous similarities and several key differences between 6061 aluminum square tube and 6063 aluminum square tube. Both alloys provide excellent corrosion resistance, strength-to-weight ratios and can be worked in the same types of ways.
Modulus of elasticity (or also referred to as Youngs modulus) is the ratio of stress to strain in elastic range of deformation. For typical metals, modulus of elasticity is in the range between 45 GPa (6.5 x 10 6 psi) to 407 GPa (59 x 10 6 psi). Modulus of elasticity is also a measure of materials stiffness or resistance to elastic deformation.
If the deflection is large enough to permanently bend the tube, then all bets are off. The steel weights are tweaked for mechanical tubing, and will be less accurate for structural tubing. The moduli of elasticity used are 29,700,000 psi for steel and 10,000,000 psi for aluminum.

Dec 01, 2015 Youngs Modulus for steel (29 million PSI) is three times that of aluminum (10 million PSI). This means that for a fixed geometry, a part made out of steel will be three times as stiff as if it were made out of aluminum. In other words, an aluminum part under load will deflect three times as much as a similarly loaded steel part.
A tube is a long hollow object that is usually round, like a pipe. A tube is a closed shape used to perform some structural function. A hollow cylinder or tube used to conduct a liquid, gas, or finely divided solid. If bending stress exceeds the materials yield strength it will be permanently deformed and not return to its original shape. Example:

The maximum amount of air that you ever want to put into a fuel tank is three psi! Never any more than that. I like to stay around 2-3 psi, mainly right at about 2 1/2 psi. If there is a hole in the tank or a split somewhere, 2 1/2 psi is enough to push fuel out of that hole and show signs of the hole.

Apr 29, 2020 The most common (and probably cheapest) square structural tubing is made from A36 carbon steel with a maximum yield stress of 36,000 psi. There may be stronger grades, but you should probably check with (or google) steel suppliers. Max shear stress should be kept below 14,400 psi.
Place the tire pressure gauge into the valve stem and press down quickly to get a reading. Check the PSI reading. Compare that to your vehicles recommended PSI. It can often be tricky to get the gauge to press fully onto the valve, resulting in an off readingo take a few readings to eliminate any anomalies.

This is due to the assumption that about 200 psi of oxygen is left in the cylinder. Or, in other words, we should not use a cylinder if the pressure shown by the pressure gauge goes below 200 psi.
