Jun 05, 2006 6. I just finished my new fixture for machining the ends of 2 dia thin-wall (0.049) aluminum tubing so that the ends are perpendicular to the OD. The fixture is made from a piece of 2 stainless steel pipe. A plate is welded into one end so the fixture can be held tightly against the lathe chuck with a threaded rod through the spindle.
