Aluminum 6063 bar has a number of advantages, namely good electrical conductivity, good extrudability, and a high-quality surface finish. When heat-treated, it offers good corrosion resistance. It can also be anodized in the T5, T52, T32, T54, and T6 tempers. Its main disadvantage is that it has a poor strength-to-weight ratio.
