An investigation into the work hardening behavior of an aluminum alloy 2090-T81 Al-3.05Cu-2.16Li-0.12Zr at various test temperatures, heat treatment conditions and microstructures was conducted. One microstructure consisted of unrecrystallized, highly textured grains, and the other microstructure was composed of recrystallized grains.

The long time air exposure test showed that the 2090 T83 thin plate had superior corrosion resistance.
